This ‘Wind Tree’ can generate electricity from the lightest of winds. It starts at wind speeds as low as 9 kph, and produces nearly 300 days per year. The Wind Tree can be installed as close as possible to buildings; so there are no line losses. It can be installed in your backyard, and can even be adapted for the rooftops. The Wind Tree is composed of 3 steel trunks that stem into tinier branches on which the 36 leaf-shaped wind turbines are attached. Its installed capacity is 10.8 kW.
