Scrub the chamoe clean with baking soda. 2. Cut off both ends of the chamoe with a knife. 3. Use a potato peeler to partially peel the chamoe, leaving some yellow skin for presentation. β˜…The key is to make it look appealing with some yellow showing! 4. Cut the chamoe in half and scoop out the seeds with a spoon. β˜…Save the scooped-out seeds! 5. Slice the chamoe into thick pieces. [Extracting Chamoe Juice] 1. Place the scooped-out seeds in a fine sieve. 2. Press them with a spoon to extract the juice. [Preparing the Other Ingredients] 1. Mix 3 cups of water with 0.5 tablespoon of vinegar to create a cleaning solution. 2. Soak the dill, baby greens, and cherry tomatoes in the solution for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water and drain. β˜…You can also rinse them under running water, but ensure thorough cleaning since they will be eaten raw! [Making the Salad Dressing] 1. Combine the chamoe juice, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon allulose, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and a pinch of pepper. Mix until the salt dissolves. 2. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt, allulose, or lemon juice if needed. 3. Finally, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and mix well. β˜…Adding olive oil last prevents separation and helps the salt dissolve faster! [Plating] 1. Arrange the chamoe slices on a plate and top with baby greens and cherry tomatoes. 2. Drizzle with the prepared dressing and sprinkle with pepper to finish. Cooking Subak Hwachae (Watermelon Punch) [Preparing the Ingredients] 1. Cut the watermelon into 2cm cubes. β˜…Make sure to clean the knife and cutting board before cutting! 2. Place the cubed watermelon in a bowl. 3. Prepare the fruit cocktail with its syrup. [Making the Watermelon Punch] 1. In a large bowl, pour in 4/5 of the milk (about 400ml). β˜…Reserve some milk for later adjustments! 2. Add 1 can of Sprite (250ml) and 4 tablespoons of brown sugar. Mix well. 3. Add the cubed watermelon and fruit cocktail to the milk mixture. β˜…You can add more or less fruit cocktail to taste! 4. Taste and adjust the sweetness with honey or more sugar if needed. 5. Add ice cubes to finish. Cooking Patbingsu (Shaved Ice with Sweet Red Beans) 1. Blend 500ml of milk with 5-6 ice cubes. β˜…Blend until you get a fine ice texture! β˜…You can also freeze the milk beforehand for better results! 2. Pour the shaved milk ice into a bowl and top with sweet red beans. 3. Add rice cakes, bingsu jelly, and fruit cocktail around the red beans. 4. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 5. Sprinkle cereal and misutgaru over the ice cream to finish. β˜…Feel free to add more or less of the toppings to your liking! Cooking Grilled Garetteok with Cheese 1. Cut the garaetteok into bite-sized pieces (about finger-length). 2. Grill the rice cakes in a preheated pan over medium heat. β˜…No oil needed! 3. Once the surface of the rice cakes is cooked, add 1 tablespoon of butter. 4. Stir well to coat the rice cakes evenly with butter. 5. Sprinkle a pinch of salt for a slight savory taste. 6. Once the rice cakes are fully cooked, place them on a plate and top with a slice of cheddar cheese. 7. Microwave for 30 seconds until the cheese melts. 8. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over the top. β˜…If you like it sweeter, add more honey to taste!
