Medieval covers and remakes of existing modern music. However I'm not completely committed to the pure Bardcore style if you can even call it that way. I'm willing to break the genre rule a bit, in order to achieve (at least for me) a better sound. But at the same time, it's not too far off from the corresponding time period. I would describe my approach more as some kind of a Renaissance or even Baroque period style cover. Medieval but with an upper limit in the Baroque era. Dependent on the song. However, most of the time I just like to add a little sparkle of epicness to it. Maybe one can call it BardcoreDeluxe. BardcorePlus? I have no idea and it doesn't really matter. Let's keep it simple... Take music/songs and make them “old-timey“ through Medieval and Renaissance inspired instruments. It was reported that when Andersson played the backing track of the song for the first time for bandmate Frida Lyngstad, she began to cry. Lyngstad had stated: “that was before me and Agnetha had even sung on it! I knew it was absolutely the best song ABBA had ever done”. Lead vocalist Agnetha Faltskog also stated: “It’s often difficult to know what will be a hit. The exception was “Dancing Queen.” We all knew it was going to be massive.” The track details a young girl dancing and enjoying her young and carefree life. ABBA recorded this about a year before it was released. It was written and recorded around the same time as “Fernando,“ which was chosen as the single. They knew “Dancing Queen“ would also be a hit, so they held it until the album was released before issuing it as a single.
