Sasha Starostenko was a well known jazz guitar player in SSSR and Eastern Europe. In his home city of , where he has been professor of guitar at the Mussorgsky College of Music, he was a teacher and performer. His presence in USA (2000) in a step in a personal odyssey following a tragic accident last spring (1999) in which he lost his sight.
