Magdeburg, the capital city of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, is one of the most important cities of medieval Europe. Situated at a natural crossroads on the Elbe, this beautiful city features wide boulevards and historic Gothic buildings such as the Cathedral, along with some post-modern landmarks such as Hundertwasser’s Green Citadel. Throughout its colorful history, Magdeburg has been subjected to devastation and destruction. Though much of the city was destroyed during World War II, beautiful cathedrals and monasteries remain, for which the Magdeburg is famous. The present video showcases the beauty of Magdeburg in all four seasons of a year in a day. As the time passes, the video progresses from the Gloomy Winter Early Mornings to Pleasant Spring Sunrises to Sunny Summer Afternoons to Autumn Evenings. Credits: Data SIO, NOAA, U.S. Navy
