UPDATE: The run was officially beaten on Sept 8th, 2021. Record held: (Aug 9th, 2021 - Sept 8th, 2021) GTA: SA Any% #Any This video is a speedrun of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Any%, where the goal is to reach and complete the final mission as quickly as possible. Timing starts when the splash screen after load disappears and ends just as the cutscene with Tenpenny driving a firetruck off the bridge begins. By using a glitch that only works in the remastered version, you are able to warp to any mission. Speedrunners of course want to get to the last one! This is very hard to do, because you have to get a particular variable in the game to the exact right value by precise timing. The skip takes us from Ryder to End of the Line Part3 (final part of the final mission of the game). For those that are interested on how this works, here's a quick summary: Requirement: Microsoft Store version of GTA: San Andreas --Start a new game, get a cop bike, begin Vigilante and cancel it within the range of 82061, 82063, 82070, 82071, 82073, 82077 or 82093ms (happens around 7:46 internal game clock). You can put the cop bike inside the Johnson House garage. --Do “Big Smoke“ and take detours to avoid vending machines. This is because many things in the game update the $CURRENT_TIME_IN_MS2 value and vending machines are one of them. They update the variable that has been set earlier by cancelling vigilante, which makes the skip obsolete. (But, when a new game is started, the first vending machine you encounter does not update the value, so we get one free pass) --Next, make sure you have some grenades and park a cop bike next to Ryder's house. Hold the key that begins Vigilante, get off the bike and let go of the key when CJ is almost fully off (this has to be frame perfect to work). Unfortunately, due to how this game checks frames and milliseconds, there's only about a 33% chance that this trick will work (even if you were frame perfect). Hold the ANSWER PHONE key. --Begin “Ryder“, but just as the screen fades to black, let go of ANSWER PHONE key and spam F. When you have control of CJ, the variable $ONMISSION will be set to $OM=0 (if the frame perfect trick worked, that is). --Make your way to Reece's, but before you enter, Sweet will call again. Hold ANSWER PHONE key and enter the shop. Make sure to get a SPECIFIC haircut for Ryder to say a specific line. --When CJ leaves the shop, let go of ANSWER PHONE key and spam F to cancel it. Afterwards, re-enter the barbers to regain camera control. The goal now is to start Vigilante during a specific time of the cutscene you're in. Ryder must keep repeating his ''You know something? I take it back. Old Reece still got it cracking.'' dialogue. Pausing the game will restart his line, which can be used to extend the cutscene indefinitely. --Run back to Grove Street and begin mission ''Ryder'' again. Next, throw a grenade at Ryder's car and get on the cop bike. Ryder's car will be destroyed and the the camera will change back to where the cutscene is. You have a 1000 millisecond window to do the glitch, so start getting off the bike and then start Vigilante before CJ gets fully off of it (you can't see what's happening, so you need to memorize how long will it take him to get off). --If the $CURRENT_TIME_IN_MS2 variable is the correct value, EOTL3 will begin. Finish the game. Big credits to Powdinet for discovering and perfecting this skip! The core gameplay consists of elements of third-person shooter and driving games, affording the player a open-world environment in which to move around. It's set within the fictional U.S. state of San Andreas and consists of three metropolitan cities: Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas. The environments around these cities are also based on settings within the Southwestern region of the U.S. Players can drive up the tall Mount Chiliad, parachute from various peaks and visit 12 rural towns and villages. San Andreas is 13.9 square miles, almost four times as large as Vice City and five times as large as the Grand Theft Auto III rendition of Liberty City. While its predecessors' areas were limited to urban locations, San Andreas includes not only large cities and suburbs, but also the rural areas between them.
