Pension protests France | Millions Take to Streets in Paris over Retirement Age, Macron in the Dock

Over 1 million people in France protested against the government for raising the retirement age. Streets of Paris and other French cities were flocked with protesters on January 19. Strikes troubled public transportation, schools and many other service. French government has raised the retirement age for most people from 62 to 64. The increase in retirement age is compulsory for the people who want a full pension. France trade unions called for a mass mobilisation after the mega decision on January 19. This was the first-time trade unions have united since 2011 when the retirement age was increased from 60 to 62. French unions have also announced new strikes and protests on January 31.
