If the Museum is Where the People Are then you Are the Museum. In October 2015 UCL Museums and Collections worked on a community film with Stratford Rising member, Salmagundi Films as part of The Museum is Where the People Are project. The project was part of PACE’s engagement strategy with Stratford and the surrounding areas ahead of UCL East’s new campus being built on the Olympic Park site. Some things we find. Some things find us. Salmagundi Films and UCL Museums and Collections delivered digital workshops with community groups from the surrounding areas to the Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park. In these workshops participants explored the theme of what a museum collection means, how they saw themselves as being a collection in their own right and objects they cherished or had collected over time. These themes were further explored in the workshops through photography and stop-frame animation using i-pads to create a final short animated film called PRICELESS.
