Guards March Through London - Reel 1. Military parade - probably World War One. Various shots of soldiers marching; & a few riding on military vehicles; bicycles or horses. Horses pulling heavy guns. Also includes some new recruits in civilian clothing. Shots of Lord Mayor and other dignitaries watching the march past; and of balcony w/ masses of Union Jacks. Interesting shots of crowd control - line of soldiers arm in arm; straining against crowd behind them all leaning forward. Shots of the parade on different streets in the city. Guns are pulled along on horse-drawn carts. Trucks go by with civilians in the (open) back. Pan across crowds - some are waving white handkerchiefs. Nice but short shot of soldiers waving a large flag. Parade comes past Lyon's Corner House. Later past the Criterion and AFA Perfumery. Quite a lot of scratching on this footage. See also ON 232 A.
