We used the vintage IBM 1401 at the Computer History Museum to play “line printer music“. We ran a 50-year-old card deck to produce this version of Clair de lune. By printing carefully-selected lines, the printer hammers fire at the right frequency to produce notes. (To save on paper, the printer's line feed was disengaged for this song.)
