On 15 October 2003, Beyoncé Knowles attended Fashion Rocks, a fundraising event that brought together the worlds of fashion and pop music in aid of the Prince’s Trust, the youth charity established by Prince Charles, Prince of Wales. Arriving arm in arm with Giorgio Armani, Beyoncé stopped on the red carpet to explain to ITN what the Prince’s Trust meant to her. She also explained why she chose the Armani dress she was wearing: “I felt really sexy and flirty and young... and Mr Armani always makes you feel sophisticated and classy.“ Inside, the 22-year-old was introduced to the Prince of Wales himself. In the two minutes for which they spoke, Prince Charles praised Beyoncé on her “fantastic“ dancing before Beyoncé introduced the prince to her mother.
