This is not a DJ set up. It’s live electronic music everything you’re about to hear is improvised on the spot. It’s all real time decision-making. I’ll quickly explain the set up. The MPC KEY 37 is used for chords, melody, and vocals. The TD3 is the lead riff. The rd9 drum machine for 909 drums. External sidechain compression from the kick on board mpc and for td3 sidechain I’m using Alesis 3630. All the audio is routed into a djm900nxs. All individual instruments recorded separately including individual drum outputs. This is the first time I’ve performed on this set up and I am totally winging it. This type of set up is reminiscent of the early days in electronic music. Before the records were made, pioneers of the genre played like this in warehouses. I hope you enjoy the live performance!
