On this episode of Adventures into History, Cecil Young and I venture deep into the woods of Webster County, Georgia, where we uncover the long-forgotten Redding Family Cemetery. (Note: This cemetery may also be known at the Mt. Olive or Mt. Ollie Cemetery) This burial ground holds the graves of African American individuals, many of which have been lost to time. During our exploration, we come across a headstone with an unusual epitaph, “A white man's friend.“ We also discover several other forgotten graves, shedding light on the hidden history of this area.
