Brooklyn Bounce is the pseudonym of the dynamic duo Matthias Menck and Dennis Bohn, two accomplished producers from Germany. Menck and Bohn work solely in the studio and are not part of the Brooklyn Bounce live act. Instead, the group was fronted by several different vocalists and dancers, who have collaborated with the two German producers throughout the years. The list includes René “Diablo“ Behrens who was also the front person of 666, Ulrica Bohn who is originally from Sweden, Gothenburg but married with Dennis Bohn since many years, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno and Stephen “Damon“ Zschope. For the compilation “Progressive Attack 4,“ Dennis and Matthias recorded the track “The Theme (Of Progressive Attack).“ DJs and buyers of the collection liked the track so much that it was decided to release it separately as a single. In the shortest possible time, “The Theme (Progressive Attack)“ reached the top ten singles chart in Germany, ranked 37th in France, 40th in Switzerland. When the single became very popular, it was decided to find faces for the project. They were Stephan Zschoppe (born March 30, 1968), who adopted the pseudonym Damon, as well as two dancers Maeva Ehoulan and Swedish Ulrika Freytag They take part in the creation of Brooklyn Bounce's songs, appear in music videos, and go on tour, unlike Matthias and Dennis, who prefer not to leave Germany. The second single “Get Ready To Bounce“ was released in early May 1997. It debuted at #95 in the US, #20 in Sweden, #20 in Finland, #21 in Switzerland and #16 in Denmark. The release date of the next single “Take A Ride“ was 1997, and it ranked 28th in Germany, 27th in Denmark and 12th in Sweden. October 1997 saw the release of the single “The Real Bass,“ and November 27 saw the release of the second album “The Second Attack.“ A new series of successful singles followed - “Contact,“ “The Music's Got Me“ (a cover of a Bass Bampers song), “Listen To The Bells,“ “Canda! (The Darkside Returns),“ “Funk U “, “Tiempo De La Luna“ (released exclusively for the Danish market) and the “Re-Mixed Collection“ remix album. In 1999, Maeva became a mother. The matter was resolved rather quickly, and she was replaced by Nadine, the girl who danced with Ulrika. She appears in the music video “Canda!“. But Nadine did not acclimate and left after 2 months. She was replaced by Alexandra Cuevas-Moreno. Alexandra was born on November 30, 1976 in Chile and lives in Germany. She went to ballet school at the age of 7, and started hip-hop dance lessons at 16. At 19, Alexandra went to Dance & Drama music school. At the age of 21, I entered the College at the Department of Foreign Languages in Hamburg. She left Brooklyn Bounce in March 2003 for college and her own career. She then worked as a deputy general manager at a record label. The single “Bass, Beats And Melody,“ released in 2000, features another member of the band. He is the Devil (Diablo), who came from the group 666. His real name is Rene Behrens, born December 23, 1973 in Burkina Faso. Diablo's appearance ushered in a new wave of popularity for the group, as his charisma and the special popularity he gained as 666's frontman added many new fans to Brooklyn Bounce. “Bass, Beats And Melody“ became one of the most successful singles in the band's career, reaching #2 in Austria, #4 in Germany, top 10 in Hungary and Denmark, and top 20 in Belgium. All four (Damon, Diablo, Ulrika and Alexandra) appear on the next single, “Born To Bounce“ (2001, #2 in Hungary, #14 in Austria, #22 in Germany and the Netherlands), after which Damon leaves the project. Stefan wanted to spend more time with his family. The same year, 2001, saw the release of the third album “Restart“ and the single “Club Bizarre“ with samples from U96's “Club Bizarre“ and Miss Peppermint's “Day By Day,“ followed by the album “BB Nation“ in 2002 . Starting with the “BB Nation“ album, the band's music became even more commercial. Leaving progressive house, Dennis Bon and Menk switched to euro-trance and hard. The release of the album was supported by the release of the singles “Loud & Proud“ and “Bring It Back.“
