Northolt, London? Introductory intertitle reads: “Racing in every shape and form fascinates the Britisher - and the new sport of pony racing is no exception. Today we are taking you in front and behind the scenes of the famous Northolt track.“ Shots of the crowds at the racetrack - some in the stands, others milling around beside the track. M/S of the bookies at work beside the racetrack and L/S of the “Totalizator“ building (or “Tote“) where people can place bets. Nice shot inside the Tote - we see a man taking bets and punching tickets. The gamblers seem to be predominantly women. C/U of drums with numbers printed on them which are presumably used to register the odds. These are located in the “machine room“. We are shown other parts of the machinery used.
