On The Freedom Side LIVE, Thursday, 11/16 at 3pm ET/12pm PT, Eugene and Rania are joined by special guests to discuss: Lowkey - On Monday, UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman was ousted from office, following her tirade against security forces, for supposedly being “soft” on pro-Palestine solidarity demonstrators. Her remarks came on the heels of one of the biggest protests in British history, in which 1 million people gathered in London to stand in solidarity with Palestine. Musician and journalist Lowkey joins the show to discuss the growing solidarity movement for Palestine and how it is shaking up the political scene in the UK. Omar Baddar - Israel’s ground forces stormed inside Al-Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital on Wednesday, November 15 morning after having bombed its surroundings for weeks. The raid is a culmination of Israel’s ongoing genocidal invasion, which has so far killed 11,360 in Gaza, the majority of which being children. Omar Baddar, a Palestinian-American political analyst based in Washington, DC, breaks down the latest developments in the Israeli onslaught of Gaza. Tamara Nassar - As widespread protests in solidarity with Palestine sweep Jordan, the Jordanian government has strongly condemned Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza. At the same time, according to reports, Jordan is permitting the US to station additional military forces on its soil as part of an American deployment to ‘defend’ Israel. Tamara Nassar, the associate editor of The Electronic Intifada, explains how the solidarity movement with Palestine and the consequences of the conflict is affecting the broader political scene in Jordan. Nastaran Mohit - The American Postal Workers Union became the largest U.S. union to call for a cease-fire in Gaza, joining a growing labor movement mobilization against Israel’s genocide in Palestine. Nastaran Mohit, the Organizing Director of the NewsGuild of New York, explains the growing momentum for Palestine solidarity within the trade union movement. Basil Farraj - Since October 7, Israel doubled the number of Palestinians held hostage in Israeli jails to 10,000, including 170 children. Basil Farraj, Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies, Birzeit University, Palestine, explains how Palestinian political prisoners have had their rights further eroded as the Israeli Prison Authorities carry out a campaign of collective punishment. Layan Sima Fuleihan - Over 300,000 people marched in Washington, DC, on November 4, in the largest Palestine solidarity demonstration in US history. Following the unprecedented demonstration, on November 9th, protestors in over 300 cities protested in unison against pro-Israel corporations and institutions, determined to disrupt the “business as usual” that has led to over 11,000 killed in the Gaza Strip. Layan Sima Fuleihan, the Education Director at The People’s Forum and an editor at 1804 Books, discusses the rising tide of the Palestine solidarity movement across North America. #BreakThroughNews
