The EASIEST way to make air fryer French fries & air fryer sweet potato fries that are truly crispy, tasty, and quick! Most recipes for air fryer fries get so complicated with tips & tricks & long soak times, but this simplified recipe is all about EASE. No need to soak the fries for hours, no need for any cornstarch. And you can have crave-ably crispy homemade fries ready in half an hour! First I’m sharing how to make fresh French fries in the air fryer 2 ways: using classic russet potatoes for the crispiest fry, and using Yukon gold potatoes for a more flavorful fry that tastes like McDonald’s! Then I’m using the same simple method to make sweet potato fries in the air fryer, except without cornstarch like many other recipes. (Because, honestly, the cornstarch takes away from the yummy sweet potato flavor!) Air fried French fries CAN turn out amazingly crispy, but they’ll never taste exactly like deep-fried fries. So why expend all this energy trying to make them SEEM deep-fried? I’d rather make a quicker batch of pretty-crispy fries in the air fryer—or lighten up and let myself enjoy the fast-food fries when I want them!
