A new horde of militant Black Metal-Barbarians - GODLESS NORTH - was formed during winter of 1996 a.b. by Othalaz (vox, guitar, bass) and Oblak Ilking (drums). Their first rehearsal was recorded early 1997 a.b. which was never released, though. Only the first demo, which was recorded during fall of 1998 a.b. titled “Dark Rites of The Mystic Order“, was eventually released and spread through underground. Subsequently, in 1999 a.b. a promo was recorded featuring tracks “Upon Heathen Battlefields“ & “Under the Veil of Night“. GODLESS NORTH signed in 2000 a.b. to Ancestral Research Records for full-length release. But in 2001 a.b., the band signed to Breath of Night records after Ancestral Research Records boss was imprisoned. “Summon the Age of Supremacy“ album was released on . (Sombre Rex released vinyl format). In 2001 a.b., the track “In Mourning for The Night“ was featured on “ II“ 4-way split by Sombre Records. In the same year, GODLESS NORTH played on North American Black Metal Invasion tour performing one gig in Belgium and four in Germany. In 2002 a.b., a Split with CHEMIN DE HAINE was release by Painiace Records on LP and Blood & Semen on CD (ltd. 1000 units). From 2003 a.b. on, GODLESS NORTH was on hiatus until 2008 a.b., when the band was reformed with new lineup. Othalaz on guitars and vox and members of band NORDWIND, Chernobog and Kveldulv, on bass & drums. In 2009 a.b., “Fimbulvetr“-Anthology was released by Darker Than Black Rex on Double Disc. Now GODLESS NORTH prepare a new EP and full-length album to be recorded for .
