Need a custom 1850s or 1860s bodice pattern? This is how I make mine-by draping one from scratch. All it requires is a little knowledge of period lines and some old fabric. So this is not something I learned from anywhere except from looking at original pieces and trying to copy that. This is the method I use to draft a bodice-today we're going to focus on 1850s and 1860s bodice shapes. Draft your own chemise: Ready made or corset patterns: Simplicity 2890 has a good chemise and corset pattern as well. For ready made chemises and made to order corsets: While finding the link or drafting your own chemise, I noticed that Elizabeth Stewart Clark has a lovely article on fitting a bodice: Follow me on Instagram: #livinghistory, #costube, #victorian, #fashion, #historicalfashion, #historicalcostuming, #victorianfashion, #19thcentury, #1850s, #1860s
