We now present Jethro Tull's “Christmas Song“, an adaptation of the classic Christmas carol, “Once In Royal David City“. The lyrics were originally penned in a poem written by Miss Cecil Frances Humphrey in 1848, which was set to music a year later by Henry John Gauntlet. “Christmas Song“ can be found on Jethro Tull's 1972 album, “Living In The Past“. This version, composed by Tull's frontman, Ian Anderson, reflects on the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ) and reminds us that the holiday season was never intended to be celebrated by an overindulgence of food and drink, but rather, by sharing our abundant blessings with those less fortunate than ourselves. This was my first attempt at publishing a video, so it may be fairly crude compared to what you're used to seeing, but I hope that the clips I've put together help to reinforce what Ian and his band mates were trying to get across. This year, find a way to share something with someone you don't even know, and don't wait around to be recognized for it. You'll wake up on Christmas morning with a wonderful feeling of contentment and hope for our world. Peace be with you all in this joyous holiday season!
