While I would not recommend this as a practical or efficient method of creating a container, it was an enjoyable exercise and test of the Buck 110. Using a Big Leaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum) branch that a late Winter storm had pruned from the tree, I endeavored to create a container capable of holding 1 cup of water. Over the course of several hours spanning several days I managed to carve out a large enough void to contain 8 oz of water. The Buck 110 continues to impress. The S30V steel held its edge throughout the challenge. It was comfortable in hand for long periods under hard efforts. The blade shape allowed me to auger, plane and scrape. With the clip point anchored I could lever across the grain easily removing material. Looking forward to the next challenge. Thanks to those putting this on.
