This is a bootleg from Marillion's Clutching At Straws world tour stop in San Jose California in 1987. The source is an FM radio broadcast from the Cabaret in San Jose. After some technical issues by the radio station at the beginning of Slainte Mhath, they get going in a great steam. There is also an interview at the beginning with the band joking around for a little bit. Fish seems in a good mood that evening as he banters a lot with the audience throughout. It's a real treat. Steve Rothery is very prominent in the mix for some reason, which also gives this boot a refreshing perspective in my opinion. The source had a lot of problems, including a substantial amount of hiss and a lot of clipping. Some artifacts from the de-noising process may be apparent in the applause between tracks. Also the source is not balanced throughout and it gets so out of balance there was little I could do apart from some imaging. The two last tracks are not on the master source and had to be inserted from two other sources of lower generation, thus the last two songs sound worse than the rest of the show. I've done extensive restoration on the source. Enjoy, and buy the artist's album!
