Siam / Thailand. Introductory intertitle reads: “This week we land in Siam - land of a thousand mysteries.“ Various shots of ancient Thai temples. Young boy poses with a large statue as the narrator speaks of the mixture of Brahmanism (?), Hinduism and Buddhism that permeates this part of the world. Various statues are shown as the narrator speaks of the Mongol influence on architecture. “And very appropriately we are entertained by one of their weird Temple Dances.“ Dancers in traditional dress sing and dance. The audience seems to be mostly white colonial types or tourists. M/S of musicians, they play xylophone type instruments and chimes. C/Us of some of the dancers and musicians. C/U of audience - one of them holds his head in his hands. Ends with intertitle: “Another fascinating installment next week.“ Note: title suggests that The Empress of Britain was the ship on which this trip was undertaken - we don't see the ship.
