K-pop star Sriya Lenka, on how she made it

From thousands of auditions sent in from around the world, two new members were shortlisted for the K-pop band Blackswan last year. One of them was the 19-year-old Sriya Lenka from Odisha. She moved to Seoul in December, where she has spent months training for up to 12 hours a day, sometimes seven days a week. She’s studying Korean, working on her fitness, jogging while she sings to raise stamina and consistency. The experience has “made me more disciplined and made me believe in myself,” she says.
