This incident happened in June 2023 in Switzerland. After thermalling up to 3350m I got too close into a cloud. Trying to descend with big ears didn't help so I wanted to spiral down. Unfortunately I completely underestimated the effect of not having any reference points during the spiral due to the cloud. I lost the orientation and almost fell into the canopy of my glider. After that I immediately threw my reserve. Luckily I landed safely and was not injured. I hope that someone can learn from my mistakes. Would love to get some feedback on your thoughts.
