On Sunday 7 August 2011, Steamrail Victoria operated a test run to Bacchus Marsh for R class steam locomotive R711 following a lengthy period out of service following the demise of West Coast Railway in 2004. An added bonus was a parallel run with Lachlan Valley Railway's 4204 and B65 in the Auscision Models livery on a Southern Shorthaul Railroad operated rail train along the goods line between Newport and Brooklyn. Well done to all the Steamrail volunteers. It's great to see R711 back in action. © 2011 James Brook
