Many people think that ninjas, the Japanese spies, used Shuriken. However, Shuriken-jutsu was something that samurai trained in, too. So today, Seki sensei, the 22nd headmaster of Kobudo Asayama Ichiden Ryu with 400 years of history, will introduce to us the various methods for Shuriken and how our style uses Shuriken as a distraction in a fight with a katana. Throwing something to create an opportunity to attack was called “Ganmaku (eye curtain)“ in our Ryuha, and Shuriken were sometimes used. How Seki Sensei combines the Shuriken throwing and our unique katana drawing technique called the “throw draw” is probably something you’ve never seen before, so please watch this video until the end. By the way, tickets for the 3-day training camp in Japan held by Seki Sensei and Let's ask Shogo are now on sale!
