Zhihua is a guardian of Qinghai Lake and a monk from Garila Temple. He started protecting black-necked cranes there in 2006. The cranes used to nest in the wetland each year, but since the water in the wetlands decreased, they began to nest in the lake, so one of Zhihua's job is to make sure the nest is high enough.
