At least ten loud explosions sounded in Kyiv overnight on May 16, as reported by Kyiv Independent journalists. Local Telegram channels reported explosions in Kyiv and Cherkasy oblasts as air raid sirens blared across the country. Kyiv’s air defence systems shot down objects over the capital Kyiv but there was no clarity on any casualties. Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that explosions were reported in the city’s Solomyanskyi district.
