Raffaella Carrà is an Italian showgirl, actress, singer, dancer, and television presenter born June 18, 1943 in Bologna, Italy. She began her career in movies at the age of 9 in 1952. Working in films throughout her childhood and her teenage years. In 1965, Raffaella signed a studio contract with “20th Century Fox“. Feeling homesick and out of place in the United States, she ended her contract and decided to return back home to Italy. While in France, seeing the musical “Hair“, Raffaella Carrà got inspired to become Italy's next showgirl. In 1969, she made her debut as host, singer and dancer on the television show “Io Agata e Tu“, in which the Carrà launches a new style of modern showgirl. In 1970, Carrà recieved major backlash from The Pope and The Vatican, after she became the first woman to show her belly button on Italian television during the opening theme of the music program “Canzonissima 70“. Raffaella's music and television career exploded in the 1970's and 1980's, conquering international music charts and showcasing her television programs and musical specials worldwide. In these years Raffaella will focus more on her music and television career, gaining worldwide acclaim, becoming a real phenomenon of export of Italian music. Raffaella Carrà was considered one of the biggest Italian artist to crossover to the Spanish-speaking market. Raffaella Carrà spoke and sang in 5 languages including Spanish, English, French, German, and Italian. Raffaella was never married and never had children.
