Gaudí worked with Josep Maria Jujol and Joan Rubió i Bellver. The sculptors Joan Beltran, Josep Llimona, Carles Maní i Roig, Joan Matamala i Flotats and Llorenç Matamala i Pinyol also contributed to the decoration. The ceramics that Gaudí used here, as in many of his other buildings, were made by Sebastià Ribó. The colorful façade evokes the legend of Saint George, the patron saint of Catalonia (here called Sant Jordi): the roof represents the scales of the dragon that Saint George is fighting, the cross on the roof
