Welcome to a virtual talk with Jaimee Neel, a Hawaiian American to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Jaimee Neel is a Public Diplomacy officer serving on the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Bureau’s China desk as the Regional China Officer for Africa. Jaimee has served in São Paulo, Shanghai, Cairo, London, Beijing, and Nairobi. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Jaimee was an inner-city schoolteacher with Teach for America in New York City and Washington D.C. She holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University, and a master’s in liberal arts from Harvard University. Jaimee is originally from Hawaii and is married to a fellow Foreign Service Officer. They have four children and two Persian kittens.
