This modern pencil holder is made out of solid walnut with maple splines. There is no speaking or music in this video, only the natural sounds of the woodworking process. I used pseudo-bookmatching with some exposed sapwood in my lumber combined with grain-wrapping to achieve the aesthetic continuous-grain look of this pencil holder. This piece measures 3 inches square by 4 inches high, and the sides are 5/16 inches thick. The base is walnut veneered 1/4 inch thick plywood. For finish I used three coats of Arm-R-Seal wipe-on polyurethane, sanding with 800 grit sandpaper between each coat. Thanks for watching! ** Want to buy the tools and accessories I use in my videos?
