Imported Milo tin cars killed Proton, says Tun M

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was asked to justify the government’s plan for a new national car project despite Proton's failure in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday. He explained that Proton’s decline was due to the previous government’s policy of allowing other countries to enter the local market. Dr Mahathir also said the government was in the process of reviewing the national automotive policy to ensure the local auto industry remains competitive. Read more at
