A mysterious man in a metallic mask is handing out free tickets to the premiere of a film at a new cinema renovated from an old gothic structure. Cheryl and her best friend decide to skip music class to see the movie. A bald black pimp and his whores are bothering people in the lobby. One tries on a demon mask, and it cuts her face. The cut will not go away, and eventually starts to fester, turning her into a green-drooling demon, which transforms people with her nails. Two guys sit down with Cheryl and her friend viewing the blood and gore filled horror film (Some are disgusted by the film, while others love it!) while also documenting a similar case to what is happening in the restroom, associating it with the prophecies of Nostradamus. The black pimp thinks its the movie that makes people crazy as he and others breaks into the projection room to destroy the camera to no avail! This is that kind of movie, when violence starts and its non stop! The theater becomes a walled-in trap, and those who survive must rely on some car thieves punks who snort coke from a Coke can to come to the rescue, Riding a motorcycle around in the theater while slashing demons keft and right with a sword becomes the norm,, all naturally set to hard rock music! The guy who prefers Cheryl becomes a gun toting hero, while the others transform into demons from the slayings one by one. Can anyone escape from the theater ? Enjoy! Such a success that it got a already a sequel in 1987. Great social commentary too by Dario Argento who wrote and produced this film because he was under heavy scrutiny from his blood and gore filled films and how they “allegedly“ caused real life violence! Total bullshit of course but thats what the left said. So he produced and wrote his most violent film ever and took the piss out of critics claims! Message here is that movies dont kill, its people who kills people. Welcome to Europe in the 1980:s where at least half of kills were blamed on movies by the left! Now films in 2024 are much more violent than this and crime has dropped and nobody blames movies anymore! PS Watch ending!
