The full documentary includes narration, interviews with band members and fans, and the concert cut up and out of order. I removed the non-concert portions and put it all back in the correct order, and restored it as much as possible. While the interviews and behind the scenes segments are fine, they distract from an otherwise great show. The original concert was recorded on 16mm film, but despite our search for either the original 16mm film, or the 16mm documentary source, it seems it no longer exists. And since the 16mm film wasn’t transferred with modern technology, some parts are darker than they should be. So I restored what is still here, reduced noise, improved the exposure consistency (probably caused by the older film scan), corrected color (scene to scene), and cleaned spots/damage. I then interpolated to 50fps for smoother motion. I gave some more life to the audio, stereo separation, some compression in the upper-mids, and very minor noise reduction from the source tape. While we are always in search of source films, in the cases where they cannot (yet) be found, we try to make it look and sound as nice as possible.
