Barefoot Is Legal () shares a Doodly video for the upcoming #IDidItBarefootChallenge event March 26-28, 2021. The #IDidItBarefootChallenge encourages everyone to go barefoot at least once during the 3 day weekend. We want to raise awareness of our mission and promote freedom. Most people do not know the background behind the famous signs that everyone quotes. Up until the mid 1960s, businesses were legally allowed to discriminate against gays, blacks, Sikhs, & others. Thanks to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that all ended. Some businesses closed over having to sell to minorities. Others noticed that minorities & the “hippies“ (Whom businesses hated due to the anti-American act of boycotting the Vietnam War) went barefoot in warm weather. As a way to legally discriminate against them, businesses put up a “no bare feet“ sign.
