I always publish a Christmas-related recording on the evening of December the 7th to start the holiday season as we understand it in my part of the world, but this year it was impossible for me due to other work-related commitments that absorbed all my time. My apologies for that. My vacation time just started two days ago. Rory Gallagher was an exquisite blues-based guitar player that died way too young and without receiving the credit he really deserved. He's the one mentioned by Jimi Hendrix in the famous apocryphal story about Hendrix's answer to the question “how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?“, and he's often referred to as “the greatest guitarist you've never heard of“. Gallagher's most famous album is a compilation of live performances in his native Ireland during his Irish tour of January 1974, released a few months later. “A Million Miles Away“ is one of his signature tunes, and one of the album's standout tracks. Taken from an original or very early German reissue of “Irish Tour '74“. Numark TTXUSB turntable - Nagaoka MP-500 phono cartridge - ART DJPRE II phono stage preamp - Vinyl record vinilo LP
