#Otyken #Indigenous #Folk Listen: A multinational band consisting of representatives of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, the group Otyken releases a new single “Chukotka“. The song is dedicated to the indigenous peoples of the Far North, their culture and a way of life. The lyrical composition, along with ethnic, traditional musical instruments and throat singing, takes the listener to the vast expanses of the northern seas, covered with a thick layer of ice, under which “sea animals” - whales - are hidden. The lyrics, written in Chulym language, raise pressing questions about the conservation of nature and the environment, ecology and sea pollution, and the consequences of unscrupulous oil production. Using the example of the Chukotka Peninsula, the song reflects the family and cultural values of the indigenous peoples of Siberia, as well as their gratitude to older generations for preserving traditions and opportunities to do what they love.
