I'm exploring the ultra lo-fi world of music made with cassette tapes and tape loops and this is my second experiment. I created a couple of loops, one around 5 seconds (100 bpm) and another one a little longer (around 7,5 sec). In the longer loop i recorded some random notes from a tongue drum then effected with the Zoom G1on (slow attack, particle reverb, stereo delay) and pitched down with the Aiwa Recorder speed control. In the second loop i recorded, after several try, a rhythm loop with my acoustic drum, reproduced with a modern cassette played and effected owith the Zoom B1on. The two loops aren't of the same lenght so the sequences goes randomly so i added a bassline with the Yamaha PSS-290. The result is a cinematic lo-fi funk that remind me a lot the iconic italian band Goblins that makes the unforgettable soundtrack of the Dario Argento masterpiece “Profondo Rosso“.
