Freediving Million Dollar Point on the Island of Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu. At the end of WWII, the Americans who occupied Vanuatu made a decision to leave behind a lot of excess equipment, vehicles and machinery. They offered to sell this to the locals at a discounted price. However thinking that they would get the equipment for free when the Americans left, they refused. Out of spite, the Americans built a wharf on the island of Santo, and over a few days, dumped all the excess equipment in the sea using JCB diggers, drove cars and jeeps into the sea and finally wedged the accelerator open on the JCB's and drove them in too, resulting in a mass of metal at the bottom of the ocean. Some was salvaged by the locals, but large portions still remain today, between 3m down to around 30m, making it a great dive for snorkelers, freedivers and scuba divers. Filmed with GoPro Hero 5.
