From Cemented Minds first LP to come, the Future is the End. Stream: Deuxième single tiré du premier long format à paraître de Cemented Minds, A Hooded Witness est un morceau dont la création fut motivée par un désir d’explorer le potentiel hypnotique des rythmiques que l’on retrouve chez Eagulls avec Skipping ou dans l’ambiance hantée du Sugarfix de Tamaryn. Avec son écriture entamée lors du premier confinement de 2020, la chanson a connu une quinzaine de formes différentes, des refrains se trouvant rabotés ici, des transitions retravaillées par-là, avant d’être complétée par la greffe d’un climax en forme de pont s’étirant jusqu’à l’implosion. Le travail poursuivi durant deux ans ne s’est achevé que la veille de l’enregistrement avec un lifting quasi total des paroles, citant Cocteau au détour d’un couplet et complétant la teinte clair-osbcur du disque.
