Davies Creek National Park is in the mountains about 80 kilometres north west of Cairns, Davies Creek raises in the Lamb Range and eventually flows into the Barron River. The Rainbowfish that inhabit the waters are a particuly nice local of Melanotaenia splendida splendida or the Eastern Rainbowfish, with deep orange colouring and dark banding, it is sort after by aquarium hobbyists. The habitat is dry Eucalyptus woodland in amongst granite outcrops that this pristine creek flows through, for more information I have left some links bellow.
