Seal's Head COVERED In Illegal Gill Net

Gill Nets are illegal all over the world, and this seal's situation is the reason why. Gill nets are almost invisible under water, and once an animal is entangled in it, they can't break free on their own. Gill nets are designed to kill anything they can catch. This seal was luckly after all because only his head got stuck and he was able to swim to the beach, and he was even luckier to encounter the rescuers from Ocean Conservation Namibia. Within a few seconds they managed to cut the gill net pieces loose, and the seal was free to go back to the ocean. If the rescuers had not encountered him, the seal would have eventually died from starvation or infection or suffocation. We have seen a few gill net entanglements last year, each and every one of them was one too many. Officially, gill nets do not exist in Namibia or in most other countries in the world.
