Dual wielding with two swords is often viewed as something only masters of swordplay can do. It's indeed a great challenge for body and mind, but in renaissance Italy it was also something commonly taught at fencing schools. Everyone has to start somewhere, so here I rearranged Achille Marozzo's (1536) two swords techniques into chunks to make it easier for all interested people to learn. First we have to learn to use our weak side sword in a useful manner. A good way to start is learning to parry with the left and striking in the same Tempo with the right. Here are all the parries the left sword can do in Achille Marozzo's Opera Nova and a couple of suggestions for Beginner exercises.
