I am in the middle of choosing images for my new project tentatively titled “Portraits of Growing Up Asian.“ Going through the many, many films and photos he left behind I am finding some jewels of the past. I still remember that in the 1960s when I was into rock and roll I built a color strobe light from a Xmas tree decoration. The colors would change and I placed the unit inside a box with a fan rotating so that the lights would blink on and off through these holes I made. My father would bring his color solarized prints into my room and we'd watch the colors on his prints glow. That was the only time he got into rock music. Anyway, I thought I'd show you what he was doing in the mid 1960s to about 1975 when he finally started his own color lab.
