On the 20th anniversary of its release to theatres, Aardman Animation Studios have officially announced a long-gestating sequel to their classic inaugural stop-motion feature film Chicken Run is headed for production! With the original film co-funded and distributed by Dreamworks Animation, Chicken Run 2 will instead find an exclusive global release on Netflix, with the streaming giant securing distribution from Pathe! the other co-funder of the original film, and StudioCanal, Aardman’s current theatrical distribution partner.
