This transect is located on the southern flank of an unexplored and unnamed seamount that is located within the national jurisdiction of Chile, east of Motu Motiro Hiva, un uninhabited island that serves as a nesting ground for some seabirds and is one of the only two islands along the Salas y Gómez Ridge. The dive will start at ~270 m depth and go upslope to the summit ~100 m. This seamount is located near the western-central extent of the Salas y Gómez Ridge where we expect the nutrient concentrations to be among the lowest.
