#choir #ynwa Male voice choir SangKam performing “You’ll Never Walk Alone“ in Hamar municipality, Norway, arrangement by Ingunn Solem. SangKam is a Male Voice choir currently 50 members strong from Hamar, Norway. SangKam was established by conductor Erland Dalen in September 2019; the name is a combination of the words ‘Song’ and ‘Kam’ (as in comrade/buddy). We hope you enjoy our rendition of this timeless classic – it was recorded as an alternative to a cancelled Covid-19 concert we were due to perform only 6 months after the choir was established. We are a non-profit organization and our goal is to be a important contributor to music culture in our region and to build a social community for men who like to sing in a choir. Erland Dalen is also the founder and conductor for “Damenes aften (DA) “(aka ladies evening, est. 1992) in Hamar. Latest video release: Dalen is also the musical director for various project choirs with singers from all over Norway performing domestically and abroad including music from «Queen», “ABBA“, “Les Miserables, “Phantom of The Opera“ and “ Stevie Wonder». «Elton John» is an upcoming show in Hamar (Spring, 2022) with over 200 singers & band. () * “You'll Never Walk Alone“ is a show tune from Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel (1945). In the second act of the musical, Nettie Fowler, the cousin of the female protagonist Julie Jordan, sings “You'll Never Walk Alone“ to comfort and encourage Julie when her husband, Billy Bigelow, the male lead, kills himself to avoid capture during a failed robbery. It is reprised in the final scene to encourage a graduation class of which Louise (Billy and Julie's daughter) is a member. The now invisible Billy, who has been granted the chance to return to Earth for one day in order to redeem himself, watches the ceremony and is able to silently motivate the unhappy Louise to join in the song. “You ll never Walk Alone“ # Lyrics: When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of a storm There's a golden sky And the sweet silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone “You ll never Walk Alone“ (Chords) C When you walk through a storm G Hold your head up high F C G Gm And don't be afraid of the dark Dm Bb At the end of the storm F Dm There's a golden sky Bb Am Gm (F) E C7 And the sweet silver song of a lark F E7 Walk on through the wind C Fm6 Walk on through the rain C Em F G Though your dreams be tossed and blown C Caug Walk on, walk on F D With hope in your heart C Em Am Em G And you'll never walk alone C Em F G C You'll never walk alone Last edit: Stein Birkelid
