This video showcases the events surrounding the April 10, 2020, chase involving Justin Battenfield, supplemented with crucial background details about the incident. The content aims to educate and inform, not to shock. Here's a concise account from Trooper Shawn Ellis: On the morning of April 10, 2020, around 6:40 AM, I was alerted by Troop H dispatch about a chase in progress. The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office was chasing a black pickup driven by Justin Battenfield. He had dangerously sped through multiple traffic signals and was overtaking other vehicles on the U.S. 71 shoulder. The chase began near Ingersoll Circle and U.S. 71 around 6:36 AM, initiated by a Forest Service Ranger. By 6:53 AM, I was on my way to U.S. 71 via State Highway 45. A minute later, I joined the chase at the intersection of State Highway 45 and U.S. 71, soon taking the lead. Battenfield continued his reckless driving, running through traffic lights and overtaking vehicles. He then turned onto Zero Street, a busy four-lane road. Near 66th Street, he began driving into oncoming traffic at high speeds. After updating Troop H Dispatch on the situation, Sgt. Brandon Margis instructed me to halt Battenfield immediately due to the severe risk he posed. I tried a PIT maneuver, which led to a collision between our vehicles. Both vehicles veered off the road, with Battenfield's truck flipping after hitting a culvert and my vehicle becoming airborne. The crash resulted in fatal injuries for Battenfield and severe injuries for me. #cops #police #policechase #lawenforcement #dashcam #truecrime #trending #viral #shorts #911
